Opera web browser has launches its
small scaled version for Apple iOS. It is a completely redesigned product and
it offers three different browser modes. They are there to save money and time
for their users whenever the network is slow and other browsers are too heavy
to handle the slow network.
This browser will run in mini mode
if you have upgraded it from the previous versions else new installation of
this browser will result in running in the turbo mode. About 244 million users
are experiencing the mini mode of opera browser. This mode is there to direct all
the traffic from the opera browser and then it shrinks them up to 90% and then
sends them to the client devices.
This helps the pages download
faster. But the drawback is that some extra CSS things, animations and corners
etc are dropped in doing so. This does not support web fonts due to the
download overhead. Opera is currently busy to work more upon this mini browser
because it wants it to upgrade to the newer Presto version. This will help it
benefit more as the upgrade system will perform on their respective servers.
On the other hand, the turbo mode
is very different from the mini mode. This is rendered on an iphone or and iPad
but some media and images can also get compressed on the servers. The
JavaScript and CSS act like normal. This mode is famous for its efficiency and high
speed. It also helps in controlling the quality of the images.
In the uncompressed mode, as the
name indicates, there is no compression at all. When you have a fast working
Wi-Fi, this mode is the most suitable than all. Some rendering engines are the
same as that of the turbo mode.
